Founded in the 1850s in what is now Bunkyo City, Tokyo, Takahashi Kobo is the oldest continuously operating ukiyo-e woodblock print studio in Japan. Now in its sixth generation under Takahashi Yukiko, the studio commands the full process from block to finished print, with work exhibited at institutions including the British Museum and recognized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a traditional brand of international significance.
