Designed for the rugged demands of outdoor life, the Kanetsune Seki Reazen-Tou Camp Knife brings power and precision together in a striking, traditional form. Inspired by the functional strength of classic machetes, its distinctive squared blade shape excels at clearing brush, heavy chopping, splitting wood, and batoning—making it an indispensable tool for camping, hiking, and backcountry adventures.

The blade is forged from a mono-layer of AUS-8 stainless steel, known for its excellent balance of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. Finished with a tsuchime (hammered) texture, the darkened blade surface not only enhances its rustic beauty but also helps reduce friction during cutting. With a substantial thickness of 6mm, the blade is engineered to withstand hard impacts, while the intentional bump near the tip acts as a safeguard when striking the ground by mistake.

The full tang construction ensures stability and strength, while the contoured plywood handle provides a comfortable, secure grip that supports both fine control and heavy swings. A brass lanyard hole adds further utility for tethering or carrying.

The knife comes with a high-quality leather sheath that safely protects the blade. Featuring a belt loop and a practical D-ring attachment, the sheath offers versatile carrying options to keep the knife easily accessible during outdoor activities.

Crafted in Seki City, Japan—a place renowned for its blade-making heritage—the Reazen-Tou Camp Knife is built for those who expect reliability, durability, and timeless craftsmanship in the field.

Seki Blades: Craftsmanship Forged Through Centuries

In the forested hills of Gifu Prefecture, the city of Seki has been forging blades for over 800 years. It was here, during the Kamakura period, that swordsmiths sought the pure waters, fine clay, and pine charcoal that would help shape some of Japan's finest swords. In time, Seki blades earned a reputation for being unbreakable, unbending, and devastatingly sharp—an ideal trifecta for warriors of the era.

As peace gradually replaced conflict, Seki’s smiths turned their skills to new forms: kitchen knives, shears, and folding blades crafted with the same attention to balance and sharpness. Today, the spirit of Seki’s sword-making tradition endures, not only in ceremonial blades but in the tools we carry and use—crafted to be precise, purposeful, and enduring companions for modern life.
